Case Report: High-Performance Endodontics in Undergraduate Education

Endodontics is a challenging field due to its complexities, especially at the undergraduate level, where students are often inexperienced and apprehensive.
This paper aims to report a clinical case of endodontic treatments performed by undergraduate dental students on teeth #32 and #33, both diagnosed with asymptomatic apical periodontitis and complex anatomies, using various technological resources.

Each tooth was treated in separate sessions. In the first session, refined coronal access was performed using ultrasonic inserts, working length determination was done with an electronic apex locator, canal preparation was carried out with NiTi ProDesign M hand files, followed by an irrigation protocol with Easy Clean activation and intracanal medication.

In the second session, the irrigation protocol was repeated, and the root canal obturation was completed using the single-cone technique followed by coronal sealing.

At the two-year follow-up, the patient presented without signs or symptoms, and apical healing was observed radiographically.

Conclusion:
The endodontic treatments performed by undergraduate students on teeth #32 and #33 were successful. The technological resources employed were decisive in achieving this positive outcome.
