Endodontic Treatment in Teeth with Asymptomatic Apical Periodontitis – Biomechanical Preparation System M Files: Case Report

In daily dental practice, professionals commonly encounter various pathologies affecting periapical tissues, such as asymptomatic apical periodontitis – a slowly progressive inflammatory condition that often compromises periapical tissues. This pathology requires immediate endodontic treatment to prevent tooth loss and restore resorbed dental support tissues.

This study presents and discusses a clinical case of maxillary incisors treated endodontically using the Limas M® system (Easy). This innovative system consists of nickel-titanium (NiTi) files with thermal treatment along their surface, which, according to the manufacturer, provides more satisfactory outcomes even in complex cases like the one reported.

This is a descriptive, experimental case study with a qualitative, longitudinal approach, conducted at Uninassau Unifacimed University Center. The patient was a 41-year-old male with extensive apical bone loss.

Conclusion:
The Limas M® shaping system proved to be a safe, fast, and effective endodontic resource, demonstrating canal centralization and predictable surgical preparation diameters, while also contributing to periodontal tissue recovery.
